You can find most of the games scattered around various flash game sites - newgrounds, kongregate, etc. A lot of the rarer games (post-BM1, unfinished) can be found at playflashonline.weebly.com/. There's also an incomplete Stargate version (Flashgate) on Kongregate. I also have Vex's source code archive for everything from Romwars to BM2, as well as the fla file (but not any of documentation and notes) for Flashwars all of which I grabbed off of vexxiang.com several years ago, but I don't have anywhere to host it. I also have a few swf files of fan variants like the Borg Invasion game based on FlashTrek. There's also two pretty good mods of Romwars at agenoodle.com, based on a Star Wars crossover and a Dominion Wars version, which are pretty polished looking (unlike a lot of the unfinished Broken Mirror mods floating around the web) and also introduce some new mechanics absent in the original Romwars - such as variable phaser power (to disable rather than destroy a target) and the ability to fire torpedo spreads. Also, has anyone heard anything from Vex? The site's been down for a few years now and I know near the end it wasn't getting much traffic. Is he planning on ever getting the site back up or finishing BM2 or any of the other projects?

Holy nutsting hell.
Nostalgia brought me, not for the first time, to Google Vexxiang. And I found this.
It's...been way too long.
Anyway, as far as I can tell the last site was actually brought down by the idiot script kiddie whiny twelve year old moron who thinks he's some kind of god. I won't mention his name because he has no life and probably regularly searches his own name. But yeah, somehow he attracted a ton of Russian spam to the site, and pretty sure it was the Ion Laser he was using to DDOS it. Basically, nobody liked him because he's an autistic @**@ so he ruined it for everyone else.
Unaware that it was that @**@, I reminded him of Ymgir's Coffee-whatever-it-was-called. Which he also then ruined. Which is what made me finally realize it was actually him.
I am in contact with several people. Including said thingynutster, though I thankfully haven't said anything to him in over a year.
Also Merzendi, SVMK, and VERY OCCASIONALLY Quantum. Though he is a self-avowed "acid-fiend" apparently, so as you might guess he is rarely on Skype. I think he spends most of his time SEEING EVERYTHING.
I'm just gonna post this publicly because the worst I can get is a ton of spam. My skype name is "samleslie123". That is not my real name. It's a long story. Actually it's a really short story but it's also extremely embarrassing so I'm not going to go into it.
Regardless. There it is. Contact me. We should make a glorious Vexxiang Skype group.

Greetings, scattered survivors! I'm the creator of the Agenoodle.com games mentioned above, and I'm pretty sure I'm one of the last modders out there. I'm unfortunately too late to breath any life back into FlashTrek, but I'm working on a couple of projects just for fun. Agenoodle.com is my old abandoned site! IGNORE IT, it's an embarrassment! Go to flashtrekdominion.webs.com for the new stuff. I'm also on Kongregate and Newgrounds. I kinda want to tell people how to contact me, but I dunno how to do that safely.

Yo if anyone has the games they should upload a link. I can;t find them on any of my drives lol. But As a member dating back to past 2008 i would be willing to host a website and pay for the resources to do so if anyone can get me the games and if anyone would want to help out. I would appreciate that I have the original Broken Mirror, but I can't remember where I got it from. I can try to find a way to upload it, or just email it to you if you like.

Hey, Yhuzan here. I stumbled upon this again and I have to agree with Corrupted, it probably was f**kboy McGee that brought it down entirely. I tried my best to deal with with and you guys always had pity saying he wasn't that bad, blah blah. If he really did bring down VX, I wouldn't doubt it. He was a persistent f**k.
As for what happened @dclark, I don't know. The forum had been dying for a while. I think just before the end there was only a handful of us left and I was having a hard time being literally the only moderator around as Duthar and OJ had moved on with their lives. Spambots are tricky, fickle things...
It's sad to see all my work gone, I managed to salvage some of my Continuum and Dawnstar works but the computer that had the .txt or .doc backups for everything else took a dump. I guess I relied too heavily on the idea that my concepts would be safe saved as drafts, lol. Luckily, I still have my ship designs from imageshack and so on.
At the end of the day, and I say this actually kind of tearfully, Vexxiang was an amazing experience for me. I found it when I was in 7th grade and the first account I made got banned because, well, I was an obnoxious 7th grader. But after tons of persistence and tons of being flamed (especially by Dean Martlou), the members of Vexxiang helped form me into a decent, intellectual young man with a great mastery of the English language. I suppose having every post scrutinized for grammar and spelling does that, lol. Vexxiang helped me develop my writing and language skills to the point of scoring a 31 out of 36 in the English section of the ACT, putting me above the top 15 percentile.
Beyond that, the Vexxiang community stoked my imagination and drove me to create new and original content to the best of my ability, which helped open my mind to the sciences and grew my sense of curiosity and creativity.
Now that I have just recently turned 20, and currently working on my Bachelors of Science before applying for medical school, I say this to any member from the original Vexxiang.com website:
Thank you.
I started as a lowly annoying troll that got banned and ended as the last moderator who stood my post until the very end, in a nonstop ban hammer battle against Spambots and HeWhoShallNotBeNamedLestHeGooglesHimselfAndIsDrawnHere.
So thanks for everything. Thanks for the critiquing and criticism of my works and my posts, thanks for helping develop my writing skills, and thanks for helping shape my world view and to become an intellectual.
There's no point in leaving contact information. I'll check back in a while to see if there's any activity, but I don't expect it to become a regular thing. This chapter in my life has been over for a while now, and I will always remember and cherish it, but I'm currently attending college and moving onto greater things in my life.
Just know I am well and I hope that you are all well too.
Take care, and I wish you all the best.
Yhuzan

Holy nostalgia, Batman-that-Ymgir-always-wished-he-was. Good to see these names. Neph even still had his account! I'd love to get in contact with whoever is alive and kicking (even Yhuzan... you grew on me eventually). If this many of us randomly google VX this often, then there IS a point to leaving contact info and I'm going add C12 (as I think I used to abbreviate him, it's been so long I'm fuzzy) on Skype. Mine is, well, theaeolian.
Oh and you're giving Molly too much credit. As far as I could tell in my quest to find out what happened, Vex simply let the domain expire. IIRC he'd nearly done it in the past, before being reminded.
Have you tried the internet archive, Yhuzan? Their crawler rarely went through VX and even less often the Guide to the Galaxy forum, but I'm pretty sure you can recover some stuff.

Hey Jew. Yeah, I tried the wayback machine and also some Google backups. My published (posted) works aren't the ones I want, though. Near the end I had multiple ship designs and concepts saved as drafts on my account. I'm pretty sure those are lost forever although I have the paint/pixel images, so all I really need to do is measure them again and spew backstories on the design.
It's not imperative for me to have them, anyways; they have no impact on my life now and serve no vital purpose. Back then, though, man... I loved writing, so much. I loved hearing feedback on my ideas and being critiqued and pushed to always improve and create greater works. I feel it was a very healthy and constructive outlet for an angsty teenager.

Geez, guys, you're gonna make me cry.
If this be our last goodbye, then, well, I can't say anything quite like what Yhuzan did, but I will say that Vex Xiang was the first place on the internet I showed serious interest in that wasn't a cheap game site. Which is mildly ironic, given that it was a site about some free games. But anyway, it was good to have somewhere to go with familiar screennames and avatars and people who knew my name. I miss you guys; if you ever want to get in touch I'm ultimatedarksaber@gmail.com.

Long Live the Few of the Vex Xiang!
We were together to the end and even now, our remnants band together.
P.s. I had to click and ad too. Da fuq.

I think Vex had a baby. When the site (and all the game files) was hosted on Webfossan, Chris Fossan popped up as the owner. Everything Vex Xiang related used to pop up under Chris Fossan, a Web designer from Texas. Just to see if anything was going on with that guy/his name, I Googled Chris Fossan and found this: registry.thebump.com/chris-fossan-kathleen-fossan-august-2015/11601906Chris Fossan, baby wish list, in Texas. I think Vex got married, started a family and just let the website go. If that's the case, then I'm very happy for him and wish him the best! Our gracious host has now moved onto greater things in life.

As endings go, that's pretty much the best one. Live long and prosper, Vex.

Vexxiang was probably what shaped my interests early on. I regret that I had drifted away from it. I still remember how proud I was to be promoted to a mod after Vex and Neph discussed it, and the majority of the community advocated me becoming a moderator. I find it funny that that slapshod system of limiting who can post where was all that kept the forum going for a while. It's too bad I never found a better way.
It's such a blast from the past to see these names mentioned again. Don't know if anyone will ever see this, but... well, similar to what Yhuzan said, to the old old guard of VX, thank you. You guys also helped shape my comprehension and typing skills. Never again have I found a site that so stimulated my desire to write and create. I'm sure I could find another if I really tried, but... after the epic sagas Ymgir could write up? After the countless hours JJ and I spent creating and tweaking our stories? It would just be a pale imitation.
To any of you old members, I wish you the best. If you ever want to catch up, the two easiest ways to find me are my screen name. Duthar remains, as of this moment, the only account of that name on Steam, and Duthar92 is my Skype.
Otherwise, live long and prosper fellas. It's been great.

So.... I finished work today, I settle down with a cup of coffee and a visa application form and I think to myself "remember Vex Xiang?". So I Google it with a hint of sadness as I realise I speak to none of you but Drake very briefly. But then... but then I find this board, with... 6 of you? I dunno. I stopped counting when I realised there was only one of you I didn't recognise. So my question is... are any of you planning on building a new forum for old times sake?
I missed you guys, you were all disturbingly instrumental as a group in my own youth and how I developed.
Good to hear from you guys.

vexiverse.forums-free.info/An old project from the days of old, but all refugees are welcome. With some sprucing up it can serve as a functional gathering area for us few that remain.
