You can tell, because when you click on the station building it says "this station is a ... construction will be complete in 0 days." Usually when this happens, I just restart the game. After awhile, the station will build.

You can't take over Pirates Haven, is this a bug? Also the Lysians seem to have lost the will to fight. They just stay put while you attack. Easy Takeover The Klingons seen to be the only ones attacking except blender, which attacks romulus. The Pirates in Pirates Haven attack eachother. Would it be a good idea to add it so thos runabouts don't attack higher class ships but just warp away? I can still plunder Borg Cubes I can still plunder stations... would be nice if you could take them over

For some reason Cardassia has become impossible to lower their strength. No stations anywhere, yet no matter how many ships I destroy, their strength stays at 8000!

I have this problem with an invicible station also. First time it was cardassia. I eventually started a new game it got so frustrating. Now it's earth and one of the klingon planets. You can destroy the last defense station, then warp back and it's back! For some reason the computer won't let you get rid of all the defenses.

I love this game, but I've recently quit due to these bugs. I have experienced all of the bugs discussed on this board and more, including the "vegas bug".
At first I did very well, conquering more than two-thirds of the galaxy. However, sometime during a skirmish in my planet of New Switzerland everything ****ed up. I couldn't build stations, all the stations I already possesed were infected with that darn "vegas bug" and all the planets I was attacking stopped getting weaker--the power level stated for the planet never changed after I aquired the bug, even if I literally left 50 Neg'var class ships in the system.
Now, every time I start the game one of these bugs or another shows up from the very start, and the others follow eventually. I have even completely re-downloaded the game and the same bugs appear. It's extremely annoying and I'm disappointed, because I really love the game and I recently learned how to use plug-ins, some of which look very nice to play (new and stronger stations, buyable uber ships, earth in civil war, cool stuff). There doesn't appear to be any real fixes for the bugs, so I'm just waiting for Broken Mirror 2 to come out, and I really, really hope that they fix up at least most of the bugs.

Wow, some of these questions are super simple to solve. But get this, I built up everything and I mean everything. All systems are allied to me or I own them, including owning Dyson and Pirates Haven. I only had to use force on 3 systems in order to own the 27 I have now. I am down to only the Cardassians, Bajorans, Klingons and the Earth Empire that I do not own. I built up Bajora big time in an attempt to get them to join me, that failed. So I decided I would use force on them because it would be easier then facing the Cardassians, that I also built up. I was successfully dropping their strength and each time the ships slowed down I would build new defense platforms so I could come back and destroy them and go again. But I ran into a glitch that I have yet to figure out how to fix. I can destroy the platforms and it does NOT say that a large fleet is entering the system and no matter how many ships I destroy the strength at Bajora will not drop below 12897. But thats not the end of it, if I leave the system and immediately return the defense platforms are always there and in the same locations.
I have played the game through many times and had to use the cheats every single time because of glitches, I am so close this time and don't want to use them. I know if you cheat you will miss out on the ending and I have yet to see it. I am thinking my only other option is going to be to buy the public protector badge and get Bajora back up to 100% prestige instead of the -4237% I am at now and go after the Cardassians instead. Which sucks because the only station I have right now that can make Galaxy Dreadnoughts is in Erasariel.
If any of you have any ideas on how else to fix this I would be most interested in hearing them.

There are a bunch of glitches/things that could be improved. For one, you can't seem to move ships in your fleet to different star systems. In fact, the fleet commands don't really work for me at all. I see there have been some new versions of the game such as broken mirror 2, but I'm not sure if any of the issues I have mentioned have been fixed. With the source code available, it seems like people should be able to make an updated version that is basically the same as the original but with the major glitches/issues fixed

Also, how can you build without stuff just getting destroyed as soon as you leave? If you keep a large fleet in the system will that protect them?

Galactic Emperor, it sounds like somehow two stations ended up being built at the same coordinates within the Bajor system, which due to a glitch in the game engine, becomes a single station that respawns whenever you warp back in after destroying it. A similar glitch affects Earth and one of the Klingon planets (Hof'maso perhaps?), where the built-in game data places two stations at the same place when the game starts, and because of the glitch you can never keep the stations destroyed OR trigger the defense fleet warping in, so these systems can't be conquered (unless you're using a plugin that fixes the faulty game data). Most likely the same thing happened in Bajor, only it's due to stations being built DURING the game rather than the ones there from the beginning. There likely isn't a workaround, you might try cycling through targets to see if there's an "invisible" station that you can target and destroy that, but I wouldn't count on it. You're probably either going to have to capture it through prestige, or resort to cheats.
And Ender, I find the fleet control panel to be unreliable, but the keyboard commands (shown in the Broken Mirror instructions accessible from the game's main menu) seem to work a bit better. There's no need to leave a fleet behind to protect stations under construction, in fact stations that are under construction can't be targeted or attacked. But sometimes you run into the infamous "build bug" where stations under construction vanish if you warp out and warp back in to a system. A potential workaround I've heard is to avoid the system after initially warping out, until you get a message during an interstellar warp jump that says your station in such and such system has finished construction.
